fattening up

Each day the goal is for the boys to gain 30 grams. Yesterday, Sam gained 60 and Noah gained 50! Noah is still having a little trouble breathing and eating but he generally is recovering very quickly. They'll have hearing tests this weekend, and something called a "car seat challenge" where each of them will sit in a car seat for an hour and see how they do. The car seat challenge is to make sure they are big enough to handle a ride in the car and not stop breathing b/c of the upright position. Since they are on caffeine, they will come home on apnea monitors. We will get monitor training on monday and take an infant CPR class then too.

All the tests and challenges are part of a big long checklist that must be completed - the docs want to send them home TUESDAY!!!! We're trying not to get our hopes up too much because one or both of them could be delayed but it really looks like we're headed towards a quick end to their stay at Georgetown! Very exciting!!
